This week at The Friday Mashup Lynda has a really cool challenge for us; we are to use hexagons and triangles!
I wanted to do something a little funky this week... something a little different.
I started with 4 colours of hexagons; Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush, Real Red and Rich Razzleberry. Then I cut each of those hexagons into 6 triangles and rebuilt them on a rectangular panel.
The card itself is a bit bigger than standard to accommodate 4 hexagons going across. This one measures 6" x 4-1/2, with the panel sticking over the edge it's 5" wide. Good thing we have the Envelope Punch Board now isn't it? ;) I was able to make a super cute envelope to fit and match.
To add a little bit of interest, I let the last two hexagons break apart and 'float' away. I had a lot of fun making this card.
Here's the challenge for this week:
- Create a project with "Hexagons"
- Create a project with "Triangles"
- Mash it Up and Create a project using "Hexagons & Triangles"
Be sure to pop on over to The Friday Mashup and see all the creative ways the Design Team has used hexagons and triangles this week.
Thanks for stopping by!
