Colour Me Playful!

Good morning - I'm trying to catch up on a few blog posts from the last week. What a busy one! We're redoing our floors at home and we're in 'go-mode' trying to get everything ready!

This week at Colour Me...! we are using Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Gold. Fun, eh??

Since the design team works ahead creating our projects, I'd been looking forward to this colour combo for weeks! But then, when I sat down to make it, my mojo and I got in a huge argument and it stormed off.. I will definitely be revisiting these colours when we're on speaking terms again!

Creative day at Colour Me!

This week at Colour Me...!, since it's the 5th week of the month and they only come around every now and then, we are giving YOU the choice of which colours to use! You can use up to 5 colours, time to get your creative on!

This whole card started with the flower... I wanted to try making a flower with the Mosaic punch, so I started with some Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette. I had the pleasure of making this at my mom's house while I was visiting for a few days, and the Pink Pirouette scrap I grabbed was already embossed - how perfect!

I used the soon-to-be-retired Little Leaves sizzlet die to cut the leaves from Wild Wasabi. Last, a bit of Gorgeous Grunge splatters in the back in Daffodil Delight and my absolute favourite birthday sentiment from Bring on the Cake. I finished it off with a bit of faux stitching around the edges in white.

CMCC#5 - Monochromatic with Purple!

It's time for a new colour challenge over at Colour Me...! We were so excited to see all the colour combinations last week, but now it's time to take it down to a 1-colour project again :)

For my card this week I started with a white background and added some Wisteria Wonder with some Gorgeous Grunge elements. I added the "Happy Day" from Happy Day and a few rhinestones.

The butterflies were punched out from the Elegant Butterfly punch in both Wisteria Wonder cardstock and Vellum. The vellum was then embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Ta-da!

Kraft + Gingham at The Friday Mashup!

Good morning,

This week at The Friday Mashup, Erica has a great challenge for us that will be running for two weeks.

She's asking use to use Kraft and some gingham. I've never tried the gingham look with the Stripes embossing folder, so I thought I'd give it a shot on this little tag. You can check out a great video from Dawn O about the technique here.

The bag is filled with a little set of 6 cards with envelopes.

I love, love, love the Tag a Bag and Tag A Box sets! I have both of them, and use them any time I can for wrapping little gifts!

Lots of Tags for the Friday Mashup!

I'm so excited to be hosting over at The Friday Mashup this week! For this challenge, we've got a fun colour combo and the added challenging of incorporating a tag into your project, or making it your project altogether!

I did this fun little tag set using the new Crazy, Mixed-Up Love stamp set - which I just fell in love with immediately when I saw it in the new catty. I'm a big fan of puns and word play :)

Grungy Butterflies on a Doily!

Hello friends!

I'm seeing so many pictures and posts from convention - can't wait until 2015 when I'm scheduled to go! hahaha...

Time to share a great new combo with you from Dynamic Duos this week, with a dessert option too!

I used the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge in the background and then laid a Tea Lace Doily (folded in half) over it. The postage stamps were punch out and popped up on dimensionals - I layered it with the Petite Curly Label punch and then topped it off with a butterfly punched out use the Butterfly punch (and of course, a pearl).

The sentiment was stamped onto Washi Tape and then I layered the washi tape over a piece of Whisper White - I ripped them together on the edge so that there was a little bit of white showing up behind the edge of the washi tape. I layered on white to make it stand out more - layering it straight on black toned it down way too much. Then I finished it off with some more pearls and a candy dot (who doesn't love these things!?)

Flowers and Grunge at The Friday Mashup!

Good morning, friends!

Back at you with a new challenge over at The Friday Mashup. This week, Amy is hosting and she's got us working with our favourite things... and her favourite things - how fun!

I love playing along with tic-tac boards. This difficulty is I'm so noncommittal that I change my mind a million times. I finally settled on Pearls, Ribbon and Flowers.

I'll be completely honest, I was almost finished my card before I realized that I had no pearls, no ribbon and no flowers. I was focusing on my favourite thing, Gorgeous Grunge! I absolutely adore that set. So, I got cracking figuring out how to add all the other elements in.

I'm quite pleased with the results. Let's have a look at some of the other options (and don't forget to check out what the Design Team has come up with!)

Create a project using a "line from the grid"
1. Create a project with a "few of your Favorite things ( Stamps & Colors)".
2. Or Mash it Up and create a project using the "Tic Tac Toe grid with a few of your Favorite Things".
