CMCC#3 - A 3 colour week :)

Good morning!

This week at Colour Me...! we have 3 colours to work with! It's a 3-colour, subtle week and I have created this little gift card pocket. I don't have a pick of the gift card there, but it would stick to the little tag that pulls out.

I started by embossing some Smoky Slate Core'dinations paper with the Chevron Embossing Folder. I layered two pieces so that the chevrons were going in opposite directions. A quick faux-stitching border, some Candy Dots with the coordinating bases, and the pocket is complete!

I added it to my card base, which is layered cardstock and some Pink Pirouette DSP from the paper stacks.

The tag was mage by punching the corners out with the 1/2" circle punch and adding a layer of So Saffron cardstock to reinforce the hole.

The colours this week are So Saffron, Smoky Slate and PInk Pirouette! We hope you have fun with them!

Time Flies at The Friday Mashup!

This week at The Friday Mashup, Cindy has a great challenge for us. It's very fitting, with the new year and all, that the theme for this week is "Time". You can also mash it up with the great sketch Cindy created.

I used a new stamp set for this one from SAB (it really is the most wonderful time of the year!) and then some older goodies that I just haven't used in a long time. I really wanted something striking against the white and was originally going to go with a red or blue... Then thought, why not do both and go with purple ;)

I've also used the Clockworks set, and the great Chevron embossing folder. White on white, with a bit of texture :)

Happy Thanksgiving for Dynamic Duos!

Oh my! So sorry for my late post today - I was smack dab in the middle of a super fun birthday party for my sweet baby Jack! 

This week at the Dynamic Duos we have a sweet colour combo - So Saffron and Pistachio Pudding.

Again, I'm hitting up the Fall/Thanksgiving cards. Is there anything any better?!  I'm still madly in love with the Magnificent Maple stamp, and of course the burlap ribbon! The background was done by stamping with a clear block in So Saffron. I used the wicked fun Chevron Punch for some extra details behind the sentiment.

Sneak Peek Week - Day #6

We're almost done with my week of sharing brand new product... so today I'm going to show a new colour and a fun, versatile stamp set:

I used the oh-so-lovely Bermuda Bay on this card and mixed it up with a little Basic Grey and Tangerine Tango. I thought it was a really fun and masculine combination.

The stars are from the Simply Stars stamp set, and I can already tell I'll be using them a lot. They are just so cute.

We're making this card tonight at my monthly card class - the great thing about it is that you can change up the sentiment and use it for so many occasions!

For this kids!

Well, it's the first day of a glorious long weekend! We were so excited about this long weekend that we made tons of plans... Then realized last night they were all for today! haha - getting the car fixed, helping my dad out with some things, getting my hair done, having some good friends over tonight... But it feels great. This is summer :)

So, it's time for another Dynamic Duo! Are you ready? :)

The fun colours this week are Pacific Point and Basic Black. We also have a dessert option for you - make a card for a kid or with a kid theme. 

I'm not going to lie, I struggled for a bit on what to make. Despite the fact that I have two young boys, I'm dangerously low on "kid" stamps. So, I went to my crafty bible (ie: Pinterest), and found this fabulous VW punch art. I tried to find the original source but came up empty handed. If you know who originally created this gem, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!

I also couldn't find instructions anywhere so I followed the photo as closely as possible and I think it turned out pretty cute. I embossed a strip of Basic Black with Chevrons to mimic tire treads.

This is for my nephew's 3rd birthday in July.

Eat a cupcake!

Oh hey... Long time no post! haha :)

I've got a fun little card to show you for today's Sunday Stamps. Kathya has a fab sketch for everyone - as soon as I saw it, I thought it would be perfect as an easel card. I just shifted the bottom part of the sketch to the inside of the card... which turns out to be the bottom since it's an easel card.

I just love the Core'dinations cardstock and the heavy embossing folders, such as the Stripes or Chevrons (which I used here). It creates such a cool effect. 

Do you see that fun little strip of Calypso Coral at the top? Yup, right under the wonderfully awesome Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon... That's some Washi Tape (!!) from the super-fun This and That product line! So excited about Washi Tape that I could just cry.

The stamp set is from the fun Hostess set "Carry On", which I love but find I very rarely use. What's your favourite hostess set from this catalogue? I have a bunch that I love.

Miss you!

It seems like forever (and a day) since I've played along with any challenge... least of all one of my favourites - Freshly Made Sketches.

I'm anxiously awaiting my new goodies from the Spring/Sale-a-Bration preorder (that's right! Go ahead and get excited!) so I'm trying to distract myself with some sets I haven't used nearly enough. "Moving Forward" is quickly becoming a go-to, it's just to cute and fun! Check back tomorrow for another card made with this set :)

I had a lot of fun making this card. The waves are made with the Adorning Accents edgelit dies and Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point cardstock. I had done something similar before with the scalloped edge (used the negative) and it was really cute, but I wanted some 'fuller' waves this time.

Merry Monday and Freshly Made Sketches

When I saw the Happy Hour stamp set in the new catalogue, I fell in love! I was open to all the possibilities, but I knew the first time I used it would be for a Christmas Card.

Christmas Cheer

Previously, I had only owned one Christmas set and I didn't want to keep making the same card, so I didn't participate with the Merry Monday challenge created by Lesley. Alas, now that the new catty is out (and I've had a sneak peek at the Holiday catalogue coming out in August) I know that I will have a surplus of holiday cheer to choose from :)

Here's this week's Merry Monday sketch.

I also played along with Freshly Made Sketches to make this pretty little birthday card for my sister-in-law who turns 30 today. I LOVE the Stippled Blossoms set SO much. I knew it was pretty... but I didn't know how pretty it was until I actually used it. For this one, I used Primrose Petals on the bottom layer of the flower and Raspberry Ripple on the top. For the leaves I used Lucky Limeade on the bottom and Gumball Green on the top.

For the birds!

The Friday Mashup! has a challenge for you this week that's for the birds!

There couldn't be a more perfect opportunity to showcase some of the new goods from the 2012-2013 catalogue!

It's no secret, really, that I love birds. I'm not a bird enthusiast outside of my little craft room, but I certainly love them in stamp form - and now paper too! The paper is the new "Birds of a Feather" DSP and the stamp set is "Flock Together". The Friends sentiment came from the new Storybook Friends set (can't wait to use that one too!)

There are a few new colours in there (Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals), as well as the new Chevron embossing folder... aaaaand the new stitched grograin ribbon, which is quite obviously going to be a staple in my crafting projects :)
