Happy Little Elf for 'Tis the Season

Ok, so I totally missed the deadline to enter the 'Tis the Season challenge. But I'm sharing it none-the-less, as it's a great sketch and who doesn't miss Christmas. Come on, you can admit it... you miss Christmas a little.

I started with this super festive DSP from the Nordic Noel paper pack from Stampin' Up! I'd been just dying to use this new Wplus9 stamp set I got, and I thought him swinging in to say Happy Holiday was perfect. 

The Elf and ornament is coloured in Copics, with a bit of white Gel Pen accents. The ornament has a layer of Wink of Stella as well, which comes out looking a lot nicer/cooler in real life!

Penny Black and Lawn Fawn for a few challenges!

I love getting extra days in the weekend - it usually means that there is extra time for getting crafty :)

It has been a long time since I played along with Sunday Stamps, and I couldn't resist the one-layer card challenge/sketch this week!

There's not much to tell on this one :) I stamped the sweet Penny Black stamp on Neenah cardstock ad coloured with Copics. I wanted to keep it really, really simple. No embellishments, no glitter... just colouring!

I also played along with the 'Tis The Season challenge as well, which was to use blues/silver for your Christmas card.

I love the little Critter sets from Lawn Fawn - so many creative ways to use them. My boys love them as well, and keep asking me to make cards with them. I adore that little seal!

I gussied up the igloo with a bit of Wink of Stella to give the snow/ice some shimmer. Nothing like a frosty abode........ :)

It's snowing at 'Tis the Season!

I had so much fun playing along with 'Tis the Season this week!

I found this super awesome patterned paper from Basic Grey, and although it has a hot air balloon and isn't necessarily 'winter', I just couldn't move past the blue/grey sunburst look and all the swirly goodness!

I flipped the sketch to work with the paper... But the sketch is certainly going in the bank for future reference - super cute.

Some weekend fun!

This weekend I found some time to play in my craft room a bit. I played along with two challenge (woohoo!)

First up, the fun sketch from 'Tis the Season

I start with a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock that had been sitting on my desk for weeks, just calling my name. Then, I sponged Night of Navy, Blackberry Bliss and Strawberry Slush onto the Irresistibly Yours DSP (love this paper!). When it came to the sentiment, I sponged the same colours onto the stamps to give it a gradient

I was super excited about this little pig stamp. It's from On the Farm by Stampendous. I coloured him in with Copics and then picked out some papers to go along with it. The background was sponged in Sahara Sand over a chicken wire (hexagon) stencil from Memory Box.
