Creative day at Colour Me!

This week at Colour Me...!, since it's the 5th week of the month and they only come around every now and then, we are giving YOU the choice of which colours to use! You can use up to 5 colours, time to get your creative on!

This whole card started with the flower... I wanted to try making a flower with the Mosaic punch, so I started with some Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette. I had the pleasure of making this at my mom's house while I was visiting for a few days, and the Pink Pirouette scrap I grabbed was already embossed - how perfect!

I used the soon-to-be-retired Little Leaves sizzlet die to cut the leaves from Wild Wasabi. Last, a bit of Gorgeous Grunge splatters in the back in Daffodil Delight and my absolute favourite birthday sentiment from Bring on the Cake. I finished it off with a bit of faux stitching around the edges in white.

Monochromatic Birthday wishes for Dynamic Duos

Hello!

Sorry for the late post of my Dynamic Duos card this week. On top of computer problems today, we've also had a little case of the "Flash Flu"... Inexplicably, almost everyone in the family got super sick, but only for a very short period of time! My oldest son literally looked grey at one point. Pretty terrifying!

I digress...

The colour combo this week is Blushing Bride and Primrose Petals. Lovely combination of pinks!

I used the chevron background stamp to add some interest to the back, and my very favourite flower stamp Stippled Blossoms. I finished it off with some Smoky Slate/Basic Grey accents.

For this kids!

Well, it's the first day of a glorious long weekend! We were so excited about this long weekend that we made tons of plans... Then realized last night they were all for today! haha - getting the car fixed, helping my dad out with some things, getting my hair done, having some good friends over tonight... But it feels great. This is summer :)

So, it's time for another Dynamic Duo! Are you ready? :)

The fun colours this week are Pacific Point and Basic Black. We also have a dessert option for you - make a card for a kid or with a kid theme. 

I'm not going to lie, I struggled for a bit on what to make. Despite the fact that I have two young boys, I'm dangerously low on "kid" stamps. So, I went to my crafty bible (ie: Pinterest), and found this fabulous VW punch art. I tried to find the original source but came up empty handed. If you know who originally created this gem, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!

I also couldn't find instructions anywhere so I followed the photo as closely as possible and I think it turned out pretty cute. I embossed a strip of Basic Black with Chevrons to mimic tire treads.

This is for my nephew's 3rd birthday in July.

My new best friend...

Good morning, fellow crafters.

This week at Sunday Stamps we have the lovely Holly hosting a fun sketch challenge. I decided to flip the orientation of the card, but keep the sketch the same.

I'm absolutely addicted to Washi Tape and it's no great surprise that it's become my new best friend. In fact, most of the products in the This and That product line are making a name for themselves in my craft room.

I kept this card fairly simple, but I love how it turned out.

Birthday & Brads at The Friday Mashup!

Oh, happy Friday to you!

This week at The Friday Mashup, Holly has a fun challenge for us. I made this card, and then I stared at it for a long time. It's not really what I would call my "style", but I had a lot of fun with it.

Generally I like layers... and lots of them. I don't tend to work directly on the card base. But sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone a bit ;) I'm wild and wacky like that.

First I stamped the centre of the card with the oval from Oh, Hello, then used the Occasions Paper-Piercing pack to go around the shape. I cut a flower from the Flower Trim and mounted it on one of the new Designer Brads. The "wish big" is from the Bring on the Cake set and I punched out with the oh-so-fabulous Mini Curly Label punch rom SAB!

The 3 mini brads were added afterwards because I felt like it looked a little lopsided.

1. Make a project with a "Birthday Theme".
2. Or Make a project using "Brads".
3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Birthday project with some brads".

Monochromatic Neutrals

As if I didn't love neutrals enough, the Dynamic Duos team is challenging us to make a monochromatic card using neutrals! Sweet :)

I really enjoyed making this card. I have to say, the Stippled Blossoms stamp set is probably one of my favourite 'floral' sets from the new catalogue. Every colour combo I've tried just looks gorgeous together - even browns!!

It's been a really long time since I whipped out the Top Note die... Sometimes it pays to shuffle through your supplies. Normally I have something in mind and grab the necessities, but today I browsed my stuffs first and came up with the card afterwards!

Beautiful Banners at The Friday Mashup!

The Friday Mashup has a wonderful challenge for you today! There have been so many fun trends in the stamping/crafting world lately, and one of my favourites is all the banners flying around. This week, Holly is challenging us to string them up!

And what better paper to feature banners but the Patio Party DSP. It has such a colourful, clean and fun look to the patterns.

The inside banner is actually a multicoloured version of one of the banners on the DSP. I love the simple circles and wanted to incorporate them on the inside of the card and on the envelope.
