Thinking of you at Colour Me...!

This week at Colour Me...! we are going striking and using Midnight Muse and Crushed Curry. I just love these colours together!

This actually started out as a masculine card, but quickly morphed into something a little more feminine.   I started with some Very Vanilla cardstock that I had lightly sponged around the edges and added a panel of Etcetera DSP matted with Crushed Curry.

Really, that's where it sat for some time! haha I just couldn't decide what to do with it. Finally, after much humming and hawing and testing and trying, I committed myself to Petite Petals with some Little Leaves. I love these two colours together!

Card in a Box... finally!

I have been seeing these 'Card in a box' projects all over the place lately and have been just dying to try one out.  This one was made for a very special friend and I wanted it to be very romantic and have a very vintage/Victorian feel.

To make the box, I followed the tutorial over at Split Coast Stampers (and used the altered dimensions so that it would fit in a standard card).

The base is Baked Brown Sugar and I have (finally!) used more of the Etcetera DSP! I just love this paper and spent a long time decided exactly which piece to use for this project :)

I've layered the DSP pieces with Pistachio Pudding CS and popped each panel onto the flaps. Most of the elements (the flowers) are from the Simply Sketched set, with the exception of the little flower from Petite Petals. I coloured the flowers in with Blushing Bride, and then stamped the smaller flowers in Calypso Coral. I love, love, love the Simply Sketched set, and have used it more times than I can remember!

Spring is Springing... sort of :)

I'm your hostess over at The Friday Mashup this week, and we're thinking about spring! We'd love to see your Spring projects, and if you're up for an added challenge, why not mash it up with oh-so-fun scattered embossing technique? You can check out a great video from Amanda Burditt.

I have used the Watercolour Wonder DSP for the background and the flowers, which I have punched out with the Petite Petals punch from SAB. The scattered embossing technique was done on the bottom panel with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and vellum.
