For an Awesome kid

It's Friday, which means my boy gets a little something extra in his lunch. I like to throw in something fun (non-food) to brighten up his day, cause you know... it's Friday! It's Friday!!

I think I've used the Mario set I carved for Hunter maybe once or twice since finishing it. Truth be told, I kind of forgot it even existed! Thought I'd whip it out for Avery's fun challenge over at The Friday Mashup this week.

Check out the challenge! This is my first time trying the ink blowing technique. I made a huge mess.

It's Mario!

I'm just so excited to share my card for The Friday Mashup this week. I've finally made a card with the Mario set I carved using the Undefined set.

I've been waiting for the 'perfect' opportunity, and this week's challenge at FM from Holly IS perfect!

Mario, the star and the goomba are stamps I carved and then coloured. I fussy cut them and popped them up on some dimensionals. The pipe is just a few rectangles and some shading. The ground is done using the Adorning Accents edgelits and the clouds using the top of the cupcake punch!

I threw in some Daffodil Delight (for the star) and some Pacific Point (for Mario's suit)... They aren't part of the challenge, but they were absolutely necessary and they are shades of the challenge colours, so I thought I could slip them in under the radar ;)

Undefined Mario

We have a Mario lover in this house. Like... hardcore fan. We all dressed up us characters from Mario for Halloween last year, and he stills refers to me as Princess Peach and his dad as Luigi most days. He's even gone to daycare and refused to respond to anything other than Mario.

Let's just say, Mario is a hot topic around here. 

So... This stamp set was a long time in coming! I had finally tried my hand at the Undefined kit by Stampin' Up! a little while ago for my mom's birthday present, and I just HAD to give it another go. 

It is so much fun creating your own stamp sets! And easy-peasey. So easy it almost feels wrong :)

I drew these by hand referencing some images I found online, but you don't have to! You can print out an image and use that as well - there is a world of possibilities at your fingertips with this super-fun kit!
