Holly is getting us ready for Father's Day this week with a wonderful sketch and theme.
Happy Father's Day
Check out this week's challenge
- Make a project for " That special Man in your life ".
- Or Make a project with the " Sketch ".
- Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Masculine card using the above Sketch ".
This card is for my step-dad. He's a lover of all things really cool (ships, trains, Canadian history). It always amuses me that I have a lot of the same interests as a 70 year old man ;) Anyways, I knew I wanted to use the Nautical Expedition designer paper for this card - but I wanted to try and get away with not using The Open Sea stamp set (mainly because I don't have it yet, hehe). So, this was my compromise - a few simple knots (figure 8, to be exact) and a simple sentiment.
Thanks for visiting today - and head on over to The Friday Mashup! to play along and check out the gorgeous samples from the rest of the design team! :)
What a great card this is Tara ... love the layers, love your twine knotting and love the nautical theme ....
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at what you come up with! You blow me away!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteYour card came out great Tara! I love how you used the DSP and then the knots in the twine. I am going to have to remember this.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I have the same interests as your stepdad also, so guess that makes me a little weird too :)
Loving the nautical theme you created with the dsp and knots - really great man's card!
ReplyDeleteThe knots are very cool, and you can't go wrong with that paper!
