Too Cute to Spook for Colour Me...!

Well folks, it has been far too long since I posted on my blog. I've finally found my crafting mojo... Not too long ago, I ran into a friend of mine at my (somewhat) local craft store, and how unlikely it was since she's not even from here! Sharing in the excitement of new goodies and talking about techniques really got me inspired again.

One item I added to my stash is making an appearance on this card for the latest Colour Me...! challenge. I'm very quickly falling in love with distress inks.

This project started with this absolutely darling little witchy Wryn from Tiddly Inks. I didn't quite get the blend I wanted to on her robe, so I added some stars and sparkle with a white gel pen. Then I sat and stared for a few days before I could decide on the background!

I sketched out this little cauldron and was going to piece together a little scene, but decided instead that I'd add some distress inks to the pot and the background, and use my Copics to sketch in a little cobblestone ground.

Ant Family Picnic for Friday Mashup!

Good Friday morning, friends. This week at The Friday Mashup we are feeling the summer breeze and heading out for a picnic!

I started with this absolutely adorable image from 2CuteInk. I coloured it (very simply) with Copics and backed it with some Wild Wasabi CS from Stampin' Up! The Honeycomb DSP in the background is from Echo Park "Fine and Dandy" collection and I just adore it. The flipside of this is a sweet little buzzing bee design.

Playful week at Colour Me...!

Good morning! This week at Colour Me...! we are going playful and using Night of Navy, Lost Lagoon, Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. Super fun, eh?

I started with this really darling stamp from Lawn Fawn. When this came out, I couldn't help but get it - it's just too, too sweet! I have had a lot of Hamsters in my day... ;) My first was Pinkie, when I was quite young. Then there was Jesse, Iggy and Queen Jane. 

For the sentiment for this one I wanted it to match the colour blocking in the background. I took my Stampin' Write Markers and drew a line across one of my acrylic blocks in each of the colours. Then I picked up the ink on my stamp from the acryclic block. Have a looksee!

I had to give it a go a couple times to get it 'just right', but we got there :)

Congratulations shaker for The Friday Mashup!

Penny Black and Lawn Fawn for a few challenges!

I love getting extra days in the weekend - it usually means that there is extra time for getting crafty :)

It has been a long time since I played along with Sunday Stamps, and I couldn't resist the one-layer card challenge/sketch this week!

There's not much to tell on this one :) I stamped the sweet Penny Black stamp on Neenah cardstock ad coloured with Copics. I wanted to keep it really, really simple. No embellishments, no glitter... just colouring!

I also played along with the 'Tis The Season challenge as well, which was to use blues/silver for your Christmas card.

I love the little Critter sets from Lawn Fawn - so many creative ways to use them. My boys love them as well, and keep asking me to make cards with them. I adore that little seal!

I gussied up the igloo with a bit of Wink of Stella to give the snow/ice some shimmer. Nothing like a frosty abode........ :)

Easter Critters for The Friday Mashup!

Hello everyone, and a very Good Friday to you!

This week at The Friday Mashup we are celebrating Easter with some great spring colours and some happy little Easter critters.

I started with the absolutely adorable set from My Favorite Things, called "Somebunny". It is the perfect set for that punny little bunny card that your heart just needs to make!

I created the rolling easter hills using patterned paper from Stampin' Up! in So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Pool Party. I cut them out the "Landscape Trio" dies from Mama Elephant. 

And last but not least, I needed that perfect Easter sentiment. That's from Lawn Fawn's "Happy Easter".
