For this kids!

Well, it's the first day of a glorious long weekend! We were so excited about this long weekend that we made tons of plans... Then realized last night they were all for today! haha - getting the car fixed, helping my dad out with some things, getting my hair done, having some good friends over tonight... But it feels great. This is summer :)

So, it's time for another Dynamic Duo! Are you ready? :)

The fun colours this week are Pacific Point and Basic Black. We also have a dessert option for you - make a card for a kid or with a kid theme. 

I'm not going to lie, I struggled for a bit on what to make. Despite the fact that I have two young boys, I'm dangerously low on "kid" stamps. So, I went to my crafty bible (ie: Pinterest), and found this fabulous VW punch art. I tried to find the original source but came up empty handed. If you know who originally created this gem, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!

I also couldn't find instructions anywhere so I followed the photo as closely as possible and I think it turned out pretty cute. I embossed a strip of Basic Black with Chevrons to mimic tire treads.

This is for my nephew's 3rd birthday in July.

You are my Sunshine!

Good Friday morning, friends!

This week at The Friday Mashup Amanda has a great challenge to help us welcome the sunshine into our lives :)

I just love this single stamp, and the Starburst technique seemed absolutely perfect for this challenge. I used the Polka Dot parade DSP in Daffodil Delight and instead of sponging around the edges which I typically do with this technique, I kept it clean and playful with some faux-stitching in white. The sun at the bottom is made with the new 7/8" scallop circle and some freehand squigglies :)

Notecards for all occasions!

Today I'm sharing a project I made for this week's challenge at Dynamics Duos. Two of my fav colours - it was pretty hard to resist.

1 stamp set, 1 punch, 2 colours and some embellishements (Ok... and the Big Shot and some embossing folders, but that's just for something a little extra!) and you can make these cute little notecard for all occasions! 

Happy Valentine's Day was embellished with some itty bitty heart buttons and some Lace tape (which was stuck to some whisper white and punched out with the ticket duo punch).

Perfect Polka Dots, Stripes and Cloudy Day embossing folders were used.

Precious Baby was embellished with some Pool Party Baker's Twine. Perfect Polka Dots and Argyle embossing folders were used. 

Christmas Wishes to you & Yours was embellished with a little banner and some Rhinestones. 

Perfect Polka Dots and Stripes embossing folders were used.

April showers...

...Bring umbrellas to The Friday Mashup!

This week Lisa has a great challenge for us with a fancy fold card and the use of an umbrella. I didn't mash it up this week (I know, for shame), but I did manage to get an umbrella in there!

I CASEd this card from my super talented mom. We were shopping one time and saw something similar in a store and she duplicated it perfectly! I had to give it a shot too :)

Rich & Beautiful for a Sunday :)

Today we have a really fun colour combination for you at Sunday Stamps. Hayley has put together this rich palette... so go ahead, have fun with it!

Here's my take on the colours

This is a CASE of another card I did awhile back for a class. I just love the Up, Up & Away stamp set, but I always forget about it! I thought Hayley's colours this week would look great floating through the sky.

After I inked up the balloon with Midnight Muse, I dabbed a bit off in the top-right section (very lightly) with a sponge to give it a little bit of depth. I find that with the other two, the stripes curve to help it feel 3D, but with the polka dot one it needs a little something extra.
