This week at The Friday Mashup, Holly has a fun challenge for us. I made this card, and then I stared at it for a long time. It's not really what I would call my "style", but I had a lot of fun with it.
Generally I like layers... and lots of them. I don't tend to work directly on the card base. But sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone a bit ;) I'm wild and wacky like that.
First I stamped the centre of the card with the oval from Oh, Hello, then used the Occasions Paper-Piercing pack to go around the shape. I cut a flower from the Flower Trim and mounted it on one of the new Designer Brads. The "wish big" is from the Bring on the Cake set and I punched out with the oh-so-fabulous Mini Curly Label punch rom SAB!
The 3 mini brads were added afterwards because I felt like it looked a little lopsided.
Here's the challenge this week:
- Make a project with a "Birthday Theme".
- Or Make a project using "Brads".
- Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Birthday project with some brads".
Look forward to seeing you play along :)
-Tara

I like all those layers originating from one point - very unique! I always like the banners and flowers for embellishments.
ReplyDeleteI really like the green against the center embellishments, it sets it all off so nicely! Great job going outside of your comfort zone!
ReplyDeleteGreat collage creation Tara! Love all the new goodies you've used!
ReplyDeleteWow, great creation Tara! I love how you concentrated everything in the center of the card, very creative. It doesn't look like you went outside of your comfort zone (lol). You did a great job!!
ReplyDeleteHugs ;)
I really like how this came out.. I usually stay away from small images myself but I love how you added stuff to it to really make everything come together.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun card! I love all the little details and layers and how they are clustered together around that chevron oval. Beautiful use of so many new products!
