Colour Me...! DT#1 Thank you!

Today Hayley and I have put together a special post on Colour Me...! to thank the lovely ladies of our inaugural design team!

We each CASEd two DT member cards. I was CASEing Brenda and Rosemary. 

Tara CASEing Brenda

For this card I used the hardwood background stamp in Crumb Cake (stamped off once) on the Naturals Ivory paper. it gave a very subtle woodgrain to it. The sunburts in the background behind the sentiment and the butterfly are from the new set Kinda Eclectic and are stamped in Soft Sky.

I loved Brenda's design for CMCC#21 (Early Espresso, Primrose Petals, Soft Sky). The branches coming down from the top and the flagged banner for the sentiment were just beautiful. I could resist recreating her fab card!

Brenda has so many gorgeous card that it was so hard to select just one to case!

Tara CASEing Rosemary

For this card I started with the stripes masking template and sponged with Pool Party. The "You Rock" sentiment is from the new You Rock set form the new catalogue (the awesome rocking chair!). I scattered a few Candy dots in Rich Razzleberry et voila!

Rosemary's card rocked my world when it came out with CMCC#7. The perfect balance of Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry and her design was just fabulous! I love the fabulous heart and the scattering of sequins. 

I just love Rosemary's style and have a bunch more of them saved for future CASEing :)

Perfect Peacock for Colour Me...!

Well, can you believe it? It's been 6 months since Hayley and I launched Colour Me...! 6 months!! It's so bitter sweet... We have been blessed with such a wonderful inaugural team, and we love each of them and their unique style. We knew this day would come, but it's so difficult to say goodbye!

On the flip side, we have another wicked-awesome team to inspire you each week! You'll be meeting them soon enough, so stay tuned :)

For our last challenge with the fab Design Team #1, we have a playful 4-colour combo.

I made this card for my sister-in-law's birthday this past week. I had SO much fun colouring the Perfect Peacock with the new Blendabilities... Turns out, I'm addicted to them. Hardcore.

To spice it up a bit, I used some Dazzling Diamonds here and there. It has such a pretty, sparkly look in person (doesn't come out quite the same in the photo though).

Word Bubbles at The Friday Mashup!

This week at The Friday Mashup, Cindy is our hostess and she's challenging us to use Black & White with 1 other colour and Word Bubbles!

I whipped out my new set, Boys Will be Boys from the new catalogue and the word bubble from the new Point & Click Project Life stamp set.

The DSP is the super-fun specialty paper Typeset, and I'm absolutely in love with it all.

Any day is a cupcake day!

This week at Colour Me...! we are playing with some fun subtles.

I have been seeing these sweet little cupcake stand cards all over the internet for years and I finally got around to making one! I absolutely adore the new cupcake set, Cupcake Party. It has some fun little sentiments, and the smilin' cherry is just too cute for words.

The bottom panel is embossed with the woodgrain embossing folder. I used some of the fabulous new thick baker's twine in Strawberry Slush and finished it off with the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack.

Birthday fun for MDS Monday

This week at MDS Monday, Joan is taking us 'round and 'round! So many fun circles.

I very rarely do scrapbook pages with myself in them, so I thought it was about time. This page is from my birthday this year in January, which I celebrated with my Mother-in-Law. I realized after I had finished the page that I should probably update the text to say "Our birthdays are only 4 days apart" instead of "We are 4 days apart"... ;)

My birthday is on the 4th and my MIL is the 8th, so we always celebrate together.

Father's Day at The Friday Mashup!

I'm finally get caught up on my blogging which has been terribly lacking for the last little bit!

First up is the current Friday Mashup challenge, brought to us by the lovely Lynda. She's challenging us to stamp on anything but cardstock and to wish dad a happy day.

Not surprisingly, one of the first stamps I ink up from my order of new goodies is this terribly punny little rocking chair. I coloured it with the new Blendabilities markers. I was going for a messy watercolouring type fill, not really 'blended'. I'll get there though :)

I used one of the new masks to trace the sporadic stars. I suspect I'll be using these things a lot!

MDS Sunshine for the Friday Mashup!

This week at The Friday Mashup Avery is our hostess and is challenging us to use patterned paper and her super fun sketch.

I've been having some camera issues for the last week or so and I've been unable to transfer my images to my computer, so I went with a digital creation this week.

I put the same patterned paper across all 8 square spaces and then dropped the opacity by 20% as I moved right.
